JUNGDO Technology, a company specializing in the manufacturing and sales of secondary battery equipment, announced that it is developing its own production facilities for the '46-Series' battery. Based on the self-developed '46 Series' production equipment, the company is also aiming to enter the market for 21700 tab-less cylindrical batteries.

The '46-series' cylindrical batteries offer a diameter of 46 mm, characterized by increased capacity and enhanced output. Major electric vehicle manufacturers, including Tesla, have already equipped their electric vehicles with cylindrical batteries or anticipate using them in the future. This has prompted a recent trend in domestic companies such as LG Energy Solution(LGES), Samsung SDI, and Kumyang to increase their production volumes of these products. The '46 Series' is getting the spotlight as a game changer in both domestic and international battery markets, as it is expected to replace the existing 21700 battery. Furthermore, the possibility of modifying part of the existing 21700 battery process to the tab-less process design which is an advantage of the '46 series' has significantly increased. Consequently, the demand for tab-less cylindrical battery manufacturing equipment among domestic and international companies is expected to increase, leading to a projected growth in market size. The process design is considered a critical key factor, as it is anticipated that the '46 series' and tab-less batteries will represent cylindrical batteries in the future.

JUNGDO Technology, boasting extensive experience, know-how, and superior technological prowess in the field of secondary battery manufacturing, is accelerating efforts to prepare for the increasingly in-demand '46 Series' and tab-less equipment. At the onset of competition among domestic battery manufacturing companies for the production of the '46 Series,' JUNGDO Technology is expected to seize a leading position in the cylindrical battery market by advancing the development of the next-generation form factor, the '46 Series,' and tab-less equipment.

Seok Jae Lee, the CEO of JUNGDO Technology, expressed his pleasure in contributing to the improvement of clients' productivity and enhancement of their stability through the completion of the '46 Series' and tab-less equipment. He further stated, "We will continuously respond actively to our clients' needs and strive to be a company that leads innovation and change with our exceptional technological capabilities."
